SCOOCS at HYPE’s International Women’s Day virtual event “Women in Innovation” 2022
It’s an everyday effort to build a world without gender inequality, discrimination, and bias. But in March, there is a special day where this action is in the spotlight. SCOOCS is proud to be a part of the upcoming HYPE Innovation International Women’s Day virtual event “Women in Innovation”. This event will happen on March 10th, in 2 different sessions spread across the day, and you can register for free here!
What is the International Women’s day virtual event "Women in Innovation"?
The virtual event Women in Innovation celebrates International Women’s Day!
Curated by women who work in innovation, this event gathers women from different countries, cultures, and backgrounds to discuss the role of women in innovation, sustainability, and building a better future!
Following the International Women’s Day 2022 campaign theme, #breakthebias, the team invites all women, men, and non-binary individuals to join, and discuss how we can take action together to break the bias, and build the UN’s motto: “gender equality today for a better tomorrow”.
Meet Sandra Fernholz, co-founder of the Women in Innovation Initiative
Sandra Fernholz is the Head of Social Impact and Sustainability at HYPE Innovation. In this role, she works with companies of all sizes to guide innovation contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Growth comes from a balance on the investment in people, profits, and the planet, creating a sustainable ground where innovation can truly thrive.
What can I expect from the "Women in Innovation" virtual event?
To be inspired and to inspire, while networking with other women who innovate!
A safe space where everyone is welcome to share their experience without judgement.
A vibrant community, where experienced female leaders are willing to empower innovation newbies.
In order to be inclusive and allow women from different countries to attend and be a part of the networking moments, the event will take part in 2 different time zones, on March 10th.
The first part of Women in Innovation will take happen from 9 am to 11:40 am Central European Time. Sandra Fernholz will be our guide, and after an introductory session, the event will kick-off with a conversation with Maryam Telmesani, Sustainability & Change Management Consultant, about which role women play when innovating for sustainability.
This conversation will be followed by another exchange, between Natalie Turner, author of “Yes, You Can Innovate”, inventor of The Six ‘I’s® of Innovation, and co-founder of the Women in Innovation initiative, and Julina Halim, co-founder of The Gentle Birth Project, about the importance of mindfulness practices and the ability to lead and inspire others to innovate. This approach will not only enable self-development but also empower a more authentic and rooted leadership.
A set of roundtables will follow, with an open discussion and networking around different themes. Each roundtable will be moderated by a set of specialists on each topic!

The second part of the event will happen from 9 am to 11:40 am Pacific Time. Arlette Palacio, CEO of SIP Group, will demonstrate examples and interact with the audience on how to Challenge Mindsets to Unleash Innovation, and Elizabeth Willett Murchison, Director Strategic Initiatives at Walmart.org, will have a conversation with Sandra Fernholz around the topic “Innovating for Good and for Everyone”.
As in the first part of the event, a set of roundtables will follow!
How will SCOOCS be a part of this event?
Ana Martins, Key Account Manager at SCOOCS, will moderate the roundtable with the theme “Everything I can’t say”.
As women, we tend to overthink our words and ask ourselves: “am I too aggressive?” or “am I being too feminine?”.
The way we are often perceived by men is, most of all, a result of our communication. In this roundtable, we will discuss all the questions we face while communicating and speak about everything we feel we can’t say.
